We have put a lot of effort in the redesign of the new foldscope kit; to be ultra portable and still provide a large number of tools (20ish) with the microscope – available and ready for you to use. Some time ago, we thought of a pencil box for microscope (since we compare foldscope to pencils all the time). Growing up in India, I had used “geometry box” all my life – and Jim came up with the vision of making something that looks like a pencil box, but for a foldscope.
The new foldscope kit will allow you to carry your foldscope, wherever you go. It’s ultra rugged and I through it in my backpack without thinking. I just got back from a trip to Utah, and here are a few pictures of the box in some remote locations. Will soon be posting data from the field..
We can’t wait to deliver these kits to users around the world..
Ps: in case you are curious what I was doing at this red sand beach, watch a brief “Facebook live” feed from this place and my hunt for cercariae. Itchy stuff!!
