I don’t have a camera ‘phone so I tried using the two cameras on an iPad. The camera on the back of the iPad is near a curved edge so it is difficult to keep the magnetic coupler flat and attached to the iPad. The other camera is on the flat front surface of the iPad but this means using the Foldscope face down, which makes it hard to focus and leaves no hands free to take photos – I did manage to activate the shutter with my nose but this was unsatisfactory to say the least! The double-sided tape also tends to detach from the iPad after a few attempts to focus or move the lens assembly, thus wrecking the image.
Does anyone have any hints on using the Foldscope more effectively with an iPad?
