    Hi,

I initially ordered the Foldscope to view penicillin mold for a school project, but since I did not have the high magnification lens, I used my Foldscope to see other micro-organisms that I found while biking and walking, as the Foldscope could simply fit in my pocket. Since the Foldscope runs on sunlight, and I didn’t have a light module to go with my scope, Using it outside was a great alternative. The Foldscope is also very easy to use with the paper slides given with it and does not take any major understanding of science to figure out how to use the microscope. Overall, I think that the Foldscope is a great tool for kids to understand the microscopic world and i would definitely recommend buying this conventional paper microscope.

In addition I surveyed 15 of my classmates after letting them use the Foldscope to look at an onion peel and got the results shared below. Please note that I only had the low magnification lens so viewing images wasn’t too clear.

Question #1: Do you like the design?

Question #4: Would you like to try it at home?

    Strongly Agree: 6
    Agree: 4
    Neutral: 3
    Disagree: 2

Question #5: Good Quality of images? (This may be biased as I did not have high mag lens)

    Strongly Agree: 3
    Agree: 5
    Neutral: 5
    Disagree: 1
    Strongly Disagree: 1

Overall I think my classmates and I enjoyed interacting with the Foldscope and look forward to using the high magnification lens and new models in future. Thanks again to the wonderful support from Max & Manu.

    Thank you,
    Parasmai
