Foldscope workshop was conducted for the Department of Microbiology, Bioinformatics and Biotechnology Students of Sri Krishna College Of Arts & Science Coimbatore. The workshop was conducted for Two days . Hands on foldscope training was given to Students and Professor’s. Had a great experience throughout the workshop.

The workshop was conducted on Kasturi Matriculation Higher Secondary School. The workshop was attended by 8th and 9th class students of the school. They were happy and enjoying the session by assembling the foldscope to build up into a complete Foldscope.

The students were interested by the seeing the images through Foldscope. They found that foldscope is essential tool for research purpose which can be carried anywhere.
The workshop was interesting with the school students because when the students saw the structure of stained cells through foldscope they were surprised and became fond of foldscope. they were started asking questions regarding foldscope and its usability.
The awareness workshop was conducted for the microbiology department students. Both UG and PG students participated in the workshop. the workshop was conducted for 3 days from 28, 29 & 31 December 2018. students were excited to observe the slides under foldscope. They liked the pocket ultra-affordable paper microscope- The Foldscope.

Sample 1o Bacillus sp Staphylococcus sp Two different colonies were isolated in which 1. mucoid- Bacillus sp, 2. Dried colony- Staphylococcus sp. are seen through foldscope after gram staining the colonies.
sample-5 Gram-positive organism Staphylococcus sp was present in drinking water identified by foldscope.
sample 4 – Gram-negative organism Pseudomonas was present in the drinking water sample that was observed through foldscope
SAMPLE 3- Staphylococcus organism was present in the drinking water.
Aspergillus was identified through foldscope. Under Lactophenol cotton blue stain a single Aspergillus was seen.
