Foldscope Naija is official! Our first outreach engagement was with two sets of Foldscope Enthusiasts. The first image is out outreach at Christ School Ado-Ekiti. The Foldscope Naija Team walked the participants through how to correctly assemble a Foldscope and how to use it to view microscopic elements.
The moldy bread that Mamta got from mess by explored using foldscope. I was sure it would be Rhizopus. But it turned out to be some other mold ——- probably Aspergillus species. I could see loose sores (conidia) spread all over.
After the demonstration session on usage of foldscope, the students set to use foldscope on there own. One of the students procured sample of stale bread from mess and studied under foldscope.
