Foldscope orientation at Sarvaanik Hindi High School Guwahati

A foldscope orientation programme was conducted by CEE North East in our school.

At first students got a brief introduction into the principles of microscopy. They then assembled the foldscope for their school

After that they were taught to make temporary slides of specimens. Small groups also studied microorganisms from the Deepor Beel wetlands.

(if someone can identify the microorganisms in picture 3 and 4 kindly let us know, our students would be very happy)

    Beautiful pictures. Would love to see the picture of kids also working through and exploring the lake. We have heard about the lake; but never seen it.

    Picture 3 looks like a mosquito larvae. If you have more images of the same insect – if willl help. See if you can find siphon strictures in the tail end.
