Fantastic post @Arvind. Several of these images appear to be micro-plastics. Can you share what the ecology/environment looked like where the plankton tow was made. It would be fantastic for students to continue and engage – so they can comprehensively sample the bay.

A lot of plankton community is on the foldscope website – so everyone will be thrilled to see your continued contributions.

    Cheers

Thank you Sir.I express my heartfelt thanks to you and Foldscope Team.

The water sample taken from the Bay of Bengal Puducherry Region from the top surface of water . The Plankton Net was designed by my students ( both boys and girls) particularly the Scout Students of class 7 and 8 ( age 13 to 14) using low cost available materials for the Research project ” Amazing World of Marine Planktons”. The students really enjoyed researching the marine environment using Foldscope. It’s a great invention which helped students to get indulged in research activities which is a great dream for them and now has been realised through this.
