Calliandra tergemina


Pollen grains of the species Calliandra tergemina. Sample was taken from the coat of a Mexican long-tongued bat (Choeronycteris mexicana) that was caught in the botanical garden of the UNAM, Mexico City. it was used gelatin fuchsin to trap and dyeing pollen grains.

    Fantastic picture. It would be great to get some Bat related material (feces, hair, lice perhaps and other parasites). Could you also share how to make the gelatin-fuchsin medium?
