Recently i got a paper cut in my finger while i was writing my assignment.
I asked myself how is this even possible
DROP ASSIGNMENT
TAKES THE PAPER
OPENS BOX
TAKE THE FOLDSCOPE
MINDBLOWN.
Though it was cut highly presise by machines in the industry , its not.
I was even able to see the fibers sticking out individually ,it was all shabby and i just looked at my finger how did this even possible.
And the crazy part is the pointy edge….buuut not really.
Its not even really pointy at all.
After some youtube and thinking , understood that this whole sparpness thing is relative to the both materials.
it acts like a saw tooth which is steady enough only at some positions to hold straight and tear the tissues and vesseles.
(Will add more articles, unable right now)
Sry
Would be interesting to see the paper-cut in action. I wonder if we could use a thin boiled potato slice and pull a paper edge over it and capture under the foldscope. Or perhaps a thin plastic bag filled with a fluid instead of the potato, and see the fluid leak out.
That’s an awesome idea
Gonna try today itself
