Very Curly Human Hair!

For my very first Foldscope posting, I decided to examine a piece of my very curly hair! So much of it comes out on my brush (yikes) that I thought I’d take a strand and see what it really looks like up close. I initially had trouble seeing it in the Foldscope, but with some rearranging and multiple attempts, it worked out! It essentially looks like a tube with many wrinkles/flakes along the surface. Unfortunately, I couldn’t figure out how to take a picture with my cellphone, so below is my best rendition by pencil! Enjoy 🙂

Good work! If you have access to a cell phone with a camera, it works so well it is worth trying again. I use tape to hold the extra magnet piece on (you should have one extra piece of black plastic with a hole in the middle). Just being careful to line up the hole with the camera as best you can. And not having the magnet flipped the wrong way helps (you’ll know if the magnets try to push apart instead of attracting!) Best of luck!
