Insect Legs

This is an image of the legs from a bug – possibly a termite – that was found in a sample of rotting wood. To prepare the slide,  I crushed the insect and placed it onto a slide. I then added a drop of water and placed a cover slip on top. I found this image really interesting because it provides a close-up look at the legs,, and even shows the small hairs and cells.
