    What a great idea to look at hamburgers. Can you mention how you stained the actual sample? I am very curious lookin at these structures. I would be delighted to see some fat cells in a burger.

      Thanks! This is a Hematoxylin and eosin stain (H&E stain or HE stain). Used routinely in our lab, but it’s quite difficult to do this staining at home. 3D fatty tissue is really nice to see under the microscope. I think it should be possible to make a squash specimen (http://www.microbehunter.com/how-to-prepare-squash-specimen-samples-for-microscopic-observation/). Instead of water I would use oil to avoid air bubbles.
