plant cuticles are protective, hydrophobic, waxy coverings produced by the epidermal cells of leaves, young shoots and all other aerial plant organs. Cuticles minimize water loss and effectively reduce pathogen entry due to their waxy secretion.

    The side cross-section is simply great. Trichomes bent by tape?

      Thanks. I guess they bent either by tape or i bent them while holding leaf in hand to take the slide. Last time i tried to have a cut on a leaf was about 20 years ago in the university 🙂
