    Howdy Foldscopers

I am having some weird issues trying to mount the foldscope to my iphone 6+ (also, just finding out that my kit came with 2 different lenses).
When I couple the phone the phone starts clicking and jittering. If it doesn’t click then I hear whirring sound. 🙁

Which lens is which as neither were labeled, and both were stuck in the couplers.

Sincerely hoping someone can help with this (coupling to iPhone 6+ without clicking).
I purchased the Deluxe kit with 20 classroom kits. Upcoming workshops in Iceland.

Thank you in advance for your time with this!

Hi, I also have the same problem. Have you fixed it?

Same problem with iPhone 7. No clicking and focusing problems on iPad.

I have same problems .. using iphone 6plus .. but somehow if I rotate the foldscope, or move the camera slightly away from the foldscope lens, it’s possibke to take a photo without it clicking or moving ..

    Hi,

We’re so sorry for taking so long to provide an official response!

Your Foldscope should only come with one lens- you will want to use one of the couplers without a lens inside to attach to your phone.

In my experience, the whirring and shaking will stop once the camera is magnetically attached to the Foldscope itself. Moving from the photo mode to video mode, and back to photo mode, may eliminate the shaking in some instances.

If this has continued to be a problem, please feel free to reach out to us at info@foldscope.com and we will do our best to help. Again, we are very sorry for taking so long to provide an official response and will be much faster to do so in the future.

    Best,
    Skylar from the Foldscope Team

One correction- the second lens is a spare, which has the same magnification as the other one. Thanks!
