Observing Millikan Pond Water

The image above was obtained using a cellphone camera and the Foldscope. The sample was obtained from the Turtle Pond near Millikan at around 8 PM in the evening. It was obtained by the TAs using a pipette.

It was difficult to identify any organisms in the sample. It was not possible to clearly see any kinds of organisms even after trying different samples.

I have questions about how to properly identify organisms in the samples or prepare them. I was not able to view any of the organisms in the pond water but there should have been a large variety of microbes and bacteria since the water came from a pond. Although using a light source provided more contrast, it was difficult to tell if this was due to an air bubble or the edge of the tape.
