Hi everyone! Today was my first time using the Foldscope 2.0. It was a really intuitive and well designed instrument, and I had a great time playing around with the premade slide they had provided in the kit. This is a sample of the fern rhizome viewed from different magnifications.

Fern rhizome premade slide - 50x magnification. Observe the cell sizes and densities changing from the center to the outer areas. How unique!

The same sample is viewed here under 140x and 340x magnifications. The 140x magnification reveals the closely packed central cells and the layers surrounding it. The 340x magnification reveals the central cells in unparalleled detail.

Sadly the camera was unable to capture the cells in perfect clarity, but the cell boundaries are still quite clearly visible.

This was a very exciting experience for me, and I am excited to continue exploring the microscopic world with my Foldscope!
