 The hair follicle is a dynamic organ found in mammalian skin.
 
 
 It resides in the dermal layer of the skin and is made up of 20 different cell types, each with distinct functions. The hair follicle regulates hair growth.

 Bacteria are broadly divided into two groups, Rods and Cocci depending on the shape of their cells. Cocci refer to bacteria which are spherical, whereas Rods are rod shaped. An identification process known as Gram Staining shows the bacteria stained red/pink, which classes the bacteria as Gram negative or Gram positive.This procedure relies on the absorption of a crystal violet dye by the bacteria’s peptidoglycan layer. Gram positive bacteria have a thick layer of peptidoglycan which holds the Crystal Violet stain used in Gram Staining and so appear purple under the microscope. Gram negative bacteria have a thin layer of peptidoglycan held between two membranes. This is not able to hold the stain and therefore appear pink.


 
 Gram-positive bacilli belong to a class of rod-shaped bacteria that acquire a violet color when subjected to the Gram staining method.

 This Elodea leaf cell exemplifies a typical plant cell. It has a nucleus, and a stiff cell wall which gives the cell its box-like shape. The numerous green chloroplasts allow the cell to make its own food (by photosynthesis).
 
 The central vacuole takes up most of the volume of the cell. It is transparent, but you can see where it’s pressing the chloroplasts up against the cell wall, especially at the ends of the cell.
 
 Like animal cells, the cytoplasm of this plant cell is bordered by a cell membrane. The membrane is so thin and transparent that you can’t see it, but it is pressed against the inside of the cell wall.

 Funaria hygrometrica is the most common species. Funaria hygrometrica is called “cord moss” because of the twisted seta. The name is derived from Latin word “funis” meaning a rope. Leaves are arranged on the axis in spiral fashion. The leaves are sessile, simple, green and distinct mid rib. The leaf is single layered thick except for the mid- rib.
