Today I tried the minerals and sea water. Turns out the insides of the mineral is RED!!!! The structres of the the mineral is so complex. The sea water had little blue animal like things that were very still. We had collected the water at the docks and it was at the surface so it couldn’t be plankton or any animal. We also looked at paper under the microscope and that was more than complex. I saw string like things that were very gross. But these things were very complex and very amazing.

My dad decided to look at a nose hair under the microscope. So we did. But the amasing thing is that I saw the same image I saw from the sea water sample. I wonder why.

 Today, my dad and my brother collected gutter water from a sprinkler run off that was popping out of the ground and was also open. When I looked at the sample, I saw a few things that were pretty interesting.
 
 #1. I saw bubble like things in the pond water.
 
 #2. I also saw black eye-like “cartoony” things that were in patterns. 1 pattern was a tiger claw.
 
 #3. There was a line-like thing that was wavy and both “sides” were bubbly, but the left side was more bubblier that the right.
 
 In my opinion, I think what I saw was pretty interesting.

Gutter Water

A few days ago, my family sat together and made paper slides because we almost ran out of the slides provided. This is how we did it…
 
 What you need:

<ol>
 <li>
 A white, thick poster paper (you can get 2 for a dollar at the store)
 </li>
 <li>
 A pair of scissors, or an Xacto knife
 </li>
 <li>
 Some time with yourself or your family 🙂
 </li>
</ol>

 Here are the directions:
 
 1. First, Take a “model” slide, or one of the slide provided with the set you got with the foldscope
 
 2. Next, Trace the outsides of the slide “model”
 
 3. Then, cut out your traced slides
 
 4. Afterwards, label your “model” slide as in
 
 model slide,  Do not use
 


 5.  After you have chosen your sample, you can put scotch tape over your sample as shown in the foldscope video
