Today we observed a potato both the inside yellow part and the outside brown skin. both were enriching experiences and i learned a lot by doing both of them
My approaches outer skin:- to observe this we simply took a thin slice of skin and observed like we did previously to the onion skin. we could see a mesh or network or brownish wires and could also see polygonal pores on it. it is a layer of dead starch retaining cells that acts as a protective cover.

inner yellow part:- first we took a very small bit of the inner yellow part and gently smashed it to get the juice and put it on the slide then we repared and mounted it. i observed that the starch containing cells exploded giving us irregular, assymetric clusters. it looked like pearls and crystals

NOTICE:-
dont crush too hard as it could break the slide
ensure good lighting
use very small bits of potato and extremely thin spin
ensure you correctly focus the foldoscope
This blog is a bit longer as i have included the exact steps and better description. the foldscope 2 is also more than capable to see this and more
