Coastal Impact is a non-profit organization based in Aldona, Goa, founded in 2009 by Venkatesh Charloo, aiming to preserve and conserve marine ecosystems in India.
They also conduct outreach programs in schools and colleges under their marine awareness program to educate on marine ecology and conservation efforts.
I introduced Foldscope as a very handy microscopy tool for their marine educational initiatives as well as exploring the tiny tots (tiny shrimps, and microscopic they may come across during their dive sessions. Once the folks at Coastal Impact were trained, we also conducted an outreach activity with a local library, introducing foldscopes to the librarians and children.
