During our 7th grade cells unit, I asked students to create their own lab to answer their guiding question - Are Living Things Really Made of Cells?

They were in charge of identifying their hypothesis, creating their procedure and materials list, conducting their lab, and then sharing their findings. Once they conducted their own, we talked about how labs should be repeatable, so I had them give their lab to a partner and the partner had to conduct the lab. Later, once two people conducted each lab, we compared findings among partners.

Once students prepared their slide and obtained a good view of their specimen, I used the phone coupler to take pictures of their findings. Attached are some of those pictures.
