Today was my second day at The Lodha Genius Programme, session Exploring the Microcosm. Similar to the onion skin, today we analysed a potato peel. The potato mesmerised me, I noticed tiny bubble like structures which were scattered unevenly. Later I discovered these transparent bubbles are starch granules. I had never seen anything like it, and this fascinated me to research. Starch granules are the major source of food for potato's hence I could see them so abundantly. In the process of magnification, one important takeway for me is to squash opaque objects on the slide for a clear vision, so that light can pass through the specimen.
