Today, at Day 2 of the LGP at Ashoka University, I observed both the outer peel and the inner part of a potato using the Foldscope. It was interesting to compare how different the two parts looked under magnification. The outer peel showed a brown, net-like pattern with small pores spread across the surface, forming the potato’s protective layer.
The inner yellow part looked completely different. After gently pressing a tiny piece onto the slide, I could see uneven starch clusters that looked shiny and crystal-like.
To get a clearer view, I used very small samples and focused the Foldscope carefully.
