At Majete National Park in Malawi Chikwawa district with Manu, we took a look at elephant dung under the microscope and it turned into a whole microcosmos.

Observations: dense microbial life, constant motion, and bacteria moving in perfect circles.

Questions: What’s driving this circular motion? Chemical gradients? Microbial interactions? Environmental constraints? what kind of microbes are these?

Even waste holds patterns, life, and unanswered questions.
