I didn't really expect much going into this but I have to admit that looking at things with a Foldscope was really cool (maybe it's just the nerd in me talking).
I've had my insect collection just sitting around for the past year and the foldscope gave me the chance to view them up close

This is the leg of my orb weaver spider, it wasn't as unsettling as I thought it would be but seeing all the setae up close made me realize how sensitive spiders must be and all the vibrations they pick up from their environment.

The moth wing was probably my favorite thing to see, it kind of reminds me of scales with all the overlapping sections. The way it reflected light also made it look kind of sparkly, I used the hind wing of the moth and it has slightly iridescent properties.

Lastly, was a ball of lint. I expected this to be boring but it still looked cook to me (not as cool as my insects but still). You can see some of the tangled mess of fibers, dust and who knows what else. I liked seeing all the hidden details and structures of things that I would've normally overlooked, it was very insightful.
