Is Chilli famous to be used in local dishes in your country?
If the answer is yes, have you experienced all of sudden the chilies in your refrigerator becoming rotten and turning black? Are you pissed because you were about to cook something spicy and have been craving it? If you are, same for me wkwkwk:)

This disease in chili plants is caused by the fungus Colletotrichum spp. or Colletotrichum capsici. Reporting from Plant Wise (2021), anthracnose is one of the most severe fungal diseases in chilies. This disease causes fruit rot before and after harvest.

Anthracnose on chili peppers is characterized by the appearance of small circular black spots on the fruit's skin that spread towards the long axis, so that they become smaller in the shape of an ellipse.

As the infection progresses, the spots become diffuse, either black or greenish or dirty gray, or are sharply defined by a thick, sharp black outline covering the lighter black or straw-colored areas.
