Last friday, the frugal science class went to Lake Lagunita on Stanford University campus. We collected some water samples, which had fairy shrimps and other organisms in them. I picked up a fairy shrimp, placed it on a glass slide, and looked at it under the foldscope. I'm amazed by how transparent and compact life can be!
