Visualization of a butterfly wing made in a small microscopy workshop hosted at Charlottesville Middle School! University of Virginia Biomedical Engineering students taught middle schoolers basic principles of microscopy and provided a hands on experience using Foldscope instruments. The students learned how to mount samples onto slides (both wet and dry) and how to visualize these samples using the focus wedge.
