For this post, I wanted to post an observation of a sample I collected when dining at a French-Vietnamnese restaurant called Golden Lily. I collected numerous various samples when receiving my food, such as lemons, tomatoes, and onions. I placed a small portion of each of these samples under the microscope, but I was not able to find a piece clear enough the Foldscope, under 140 X. I ended up using an onion peel to observe. Below are the images I have acquired.
Onion peel under 140 X Magnification; The structure is varied, with inconsistent linings and patterns.
This is a picture of the onion and its outer skin.
This is a picture of the cover sticker over the onion peel, mounted on a glass slide.
It was fun looking under the Foldscope to observe different foods!
