In this lesson, students worked collaboratively with a partner to practice making careful scientific observations and engaging in academic discussions. Using Foldascopes, students examined pieces of plants they collected outside and discussed the different shapes, patterns, colors, and details they noticed. Through partner conversations, students practiced using observation skills, listening to others’ ideas, and describing what they saw using clear and descriptive language.
