After constructing my microscope, I decided to test it with a piece of my own hair. I thought it was particularly interesting to examine the sample in two different microscopes due to slight differences in the zooming, which allowed me to see different aspects. In the image included above, there is a slightly wider angle, and the piece of hair is surrounded by a thin bubble in the slide. There are thin strands that appear to be wrapped around in a structure that looks like a rope. I would therefore be interested in examining other pieces of hair (potentially of different colors or ages) to see if the structure is maintained.

I conducted this project as part of Professor Pringle's EEB321 class at Princeton University.
