I conducted this project as a part of Robert Pringle's EEB 321 class at Princeton University. I used my foldscope to look at long grass that was outside of our lab. I did this because it was very easy to acquire and also gave me a good look at the cells of the grass. I really enjoyed building the foldscope and I think that this has a huge possibility for public health applications. The ability to collect in-the-field microscope data would allow public health organizations to test things like water, food, and other bacterial infections that could cause large scale public health crises.
