"A coffee date with good friends fills my cup in more ways than one."
Thanks to Himalayan Volunteer Tourism the Srinagar Drass Kargil Leh workshops became a reality we covered schools in faroff lands and reached 400 students.
During the journey we also met Abaas Pintoo from Sarchay who drove us and helped us see the beautiful places around Kargil. We all met over a cup of coffee at the banks of the Suru river and behold waited to explore the Foldscope, a handheld paper folding microscope.
Together we were with Alee Zulfi from Govt Model High School Lankore-PM Shri School who made us feel at home. We chatted and saw onion cells and soon we were joined by Stanzin Saldon from Rzamba, Kargil a young mother who was much in a hurry but was eager to know more about this tool.
We explored the posiibilities of how during the winter months children from this region can put this tool to good use, they can explore the microflora around them and enage with younger kids making this tool accessible to all the children of this region.
Trully an empowering thought here by Mahima Gir Mehra for getting us all together.
