We saw a permanent slide of the fern rhizome under the foldscope in all three magnifications. The colours due to the stain were striking. The rhizome formed a pattern of concentric rings with mesh like cells. Some of the cells were stained lightly, while some of the blue stains had red blotches in the centre, as seen in a zoomed in photo below. The centre had the most dark cells.
