At 340x Magnification Giant Vacuoles: Zooming in, a single cell might take up almost the entire view. You are mostly looking at a massive central vacuole—the cellular "water tank" that gives the tomato its juicy texture. Chromoplasts Up Close: The red and yellow pigment spots from earlier are now clearly visible as chromoplasts . In the pulp, these are often larger or more irregular than in the skin, sometimes looking like tiny needles, crystals, or globules floating in the thin layer of cytoplasm near the cell wall. Cytoplasmic Strands: If you look closely, you can sometimes see very faint, hair-like lines of cytoplasm stretching across the giant cell, anchoring the nucleus or suspended organelles in place.
