In my balcony I had potted a tomato plant. While I was watering that plant I observed a leaf with white spots underside of the leaf. I wanted to observe those patches under the foldscope. While I was cutting the infected leaf I noticed small flies.
Then I put a piece of leaf under the foldscope but I couldn’t see clearly.
Later I caught hold of the insect and put it on a cavity slide and placed a coverslip gently over the insect. It is a white fly.
I saw some black ones which may be the 3rd instar stage of the fly.
Later I peeled the lower epidermis of another leaf which was less infected and observed the following.
Are these eggs? (140x + 2x of iPad)
