7th grades were introduced to foldscopes! In class they completed a class as a hands-on activity that allowed them to explore the microscopic world and observe single-celled organisms. They examined samples collected from both creek water and pond water, allowing them to compare different environments and the types of microorganisms present. This experience deepened their understanding of cell structure, diversity, and the role of microorganisms in ecosystems, while also strengthening their scientific observation and inquiry skills.
I am elated that my students were able to use foldscopes!
