My students had their very first experience with the Foldscope today! We did an indoor discussion about microscopes, the reasons why we need them, and what/how to choose an item to view.
It was a beautiful sunny day - perfect for exploring with our Foldscopes! The first reactions were "I don't see anything", but gradually - with some encouragement and how-to mini lesson - the comments switched to "WOW!", "LOOK AT THIS", "THIS IS CRAZY"!
When I finally told them it was time to go inside they were disappointed and asked when they could go explore again.
