By definition, Underutilized Horticultural Crops (UUHC) are those crops cultivated, consumed and traded locally for their food, medicinal and aesthetic purposes. Our project aimed to survey, collect leaf, flower and fruit samples from existing UUHC trees from different locations of North East India Region and record observations on the leaf characters and floral attributes using foldscope to study medicinal values of horticultural crops and their economic importance. Some of the leaf samples collected from field have been studied in the laboratory for stomatal attributes by studying the distribution of stomata on the lower surfaces of the leaf using foldscope.
