In continuation in my last post, here i briefly describe the compound eye lenses of the Sphinx moth.
Observations:
1. I am amazed at how perfect the eye lenses seem to be.
2. They seemed to be filled with a fluid; that provides them the brown hue, which is gone in certain cell.
3. They look very flat in nature. I had already assumed that lenses would be highly curved in the compound eye. Apparently not!!
