Methodology:
Root tips 1 to 2 cm was cut and incubated in Carnoy’s fixative for 15 to 20 minutes. Then washed thoroughly in water 2 to 3 times. The root tips was transfered in 1N Hydrochloric acid and incubate at 60°C for 5 minutes. Stained with acetocarmine for 10 minutes. Transferred onto a clean slide and covered with a cover slip. Gently tap the root and observe under the Microscope and Foldscope Stage Acronyms

Prophase: 1
Metaphase: 2
Anaphase: 3
Telophase: 4
