Hello, I was searching through this forum to see some mention of Antonie van Leeuwenhoek , the seventeenth century textile trader from Netherlands who made the world’s first single spherical lens microscope.
Did the idea of using single lens come independently in a flash of insight without any source or was it inspired from Leeuwenhoek’s microscope? The origami part is completely a new creation but the idea of using a spherical lens which is making all the difference.
Leeuwenhoek was able to see bacteria through his microscope. Can we see bacteria in Foldscope?
If we want to see bacteria, which sample should we collect? I am very eager to see a real bacteria.
