This is my first post of 2019. When I was working on some sample collected from a nearby ditch, found this awesome creature. I find the movement interesting, so sharing with you. It is undoubtedly Difflugia sp. This organism demonstrates the movement of a large testate amoeba using finger-like pseudopods. The taxonomy of this genus is based mainly on differences in shape and size of their agglutinated shells. The species also have symbiotic association with photosynthetic Chlorella .
For the zooplankton enthusiast, I have encountered this species in freshwater sediments, between water plants
