Another Giant ciliate! Euplotes sp.(?). This is purely a freshwater inhabitant. This genus has rows of fused cilia (cirri) along the bottom surface. By the help of these fused cilia, it swims or can walk along the substarte. The cilia move in synchronized waves, propelling the species through the water. They possess a wide cytostome through which food enters the tummy.
