The aspect of sharing knowledge and experience of using Foldscope was done with the visiting students of Srikishan Sarda College Hailakandi, Assam, 788151 , (http://www.sscollegehkd.ac.in/) on 14th February 2019 in Chilika, Odisha. A group of sixteen B.Sc. Zoology student guided by their Professor visited Wetland Research Training Centre, Balugaon Odisha as a part of their excursion and to get training on foldscope at WRTC.. They were given a detailed presentation on Chilika, the work done by the Chilika Development Authority and how we are implementing the Foldscope for assessing the biodiversity of Chilika and epiphytic communties of seagrasses. The TED Talk by Dr. Manu Prakash was shown on screen to inspire the curious student who saw the video for the first time. Then the entire group were demonstrated with live sample of algae using foldscopes. The preparation of slide, how to use it under foldscope was taught in details for a better understanding of Foldscope operation. Videos of different organism captured by the WRTC lab member were shown to them. The different field application of Foldscope was also depicted. The end of the programme came with lab visit and group photographs taken. The entire programme was a success in igniting a need of new and cheap technology to do the science in an interior college of Assam State.
