This is a photograph of a worm I looked at using my foldscope. The worm was collected by Steph from the top of the mud the teachers brought into class. The worm was alive and moving, so it was difficult to focus and ensure it was captured in the frame. Nevertheless, I am curious about some of the features I did manage to capture in this photograph. For example, what is the dark “v” shape on the worm’s head? I tried to look this up, and it seems like it could be the subpharyngeal ganglion, which is part of the worm’s nervous system.
