I was thinking about what things are semitransparent that might look cool under a microscope. Sitting at my desk I remembered that tissues are made up of 2 sheets of cloth, hence 2 ply, and that 1 sheet is thin enough to view with a foldscope. So, I tore the a clean tissue in order to separate the 2 pieces of cloth. Then I tore a section of cloth from one sheet small enough to put the one layer on a microscope slide. The picture does not do justice to what I observed. The threads have no obvious pattern and are anything but straightly aligned. They instead wind around each other with no apparent order. To get a better picture it is easy to prepare the slide yourself. Tip to focus on this specimen i had to squeeze the focus slider. This is probably why i couldn’t get a good picture.
