The area around the log hut of the Kansal forest is well maintained and showed beautiful landscaping. Clusters of racemes bearing pure white coloured flowers adorned the medium-sized Prunus (Family – Rosaceae) trees and were a part of landscape horticulture.
The white cherry tree is of great ornamental value and is usually vegetatively propagated. The sepals green in color compose a cup-shaped calyx. Petals are white in color, delicate and caduceus, falling with a gentle touch or breeze. Flowers enclose numerous stamens (20-30 in number) hat are curved inwards bearing bithecous anthers at the tip. The students teased the anthers to release the ellipsoidal and ovate pollen to catch a view under foldscope.
