This bright green algae was floating along the banks of the Elkhorn Slough when my class and I visited on February 18, 2016. It may be an invasive algae, I’m not sure, but I have a feeling it’s a sign of excess nutrients entering into the slough from surrounding farmlands. In any case, this was the first time I saw something clearly through my foldscope and it was certainly pretty and interesting to look at!
