The PI of Foldscope project, Dr. Ekramul Islam, Assistant professor, Department of Microbiology, University of Kalyani, had organized an Outreach Programme on 28
th
January, 2019 at Pirijpur Hamidannesa Vidyapith, Dakshin Rasulpur, Arambagh, Hooghly, West Bengal. The students were from the remote villages of the area with hardly any knowledge or access to microscope or microbial world. The enthusiasm among the students and the teachers for this new low-cost device to view microscopic world was incredible. Dr. Islam Started the programme with an introductory lecture, followed by demonstration and hands on training on foldscope assembling, sample slide preparation and viewing under self-assembled foldscope.
